PRETORIA - Suspended Tshwane Metro Police Deputy Chief Ndumiso Jaca made his first court appearance on Friday.
His criminal prosecution is the result of an Eyewitness News investigation which revealed he was driving an unlicenced, unregistered car fitted with false number plates and blue lights.
Jaca made a brief appearance.
The matter was placed on the court roll but the top-cop attracted supporters from within the ranks, including Tshwane metro police officers who have appeared in court in the past.
Jaca is facing four charges, including fraud, driving an unregistered and unlicenced vehicle, driving a vehicle with false number plates, as well as, illegally fitting blue lights to his car.
The Tshwane Municipality suspended Jaca in November 2011, following the Eyewitness News exposé.
