CAPE TOWN - Deputy Agriculture Minister Pieter Mulder appears to have mended fences with his boss, Tina Joemat-Pettersson.

Mulder last year described his relationship with her as "complicated", following reported clashes between the two.

But while Mulder seemed to have newfound respect for Joemat-Pettersson, a Freedom Front Plus (FF+) colleague wasn't as generous.

He hurled insults at her during an agriculture budget debate in parliament on Thursday.

“Nie ten staande media berigte, stem ek met die minister op baie landbou sake saam,” said a diplomatic Mulder.

But fellow FF+ MP Pieter Groenewald was not as kind.

He accused Joemat-Pettersson of caring more for fashion than she did for farmers.

"U is eintlik 'n drama queen."

Joemat-Pettersson told him to take it up with his leader.

“Your leader, the Deputy Minister is part of this government.”

Groenewald responded by saying, “He is not part of this government, you misleading yourself."
