Ransom paid for Moodliar
A ransom was paid to secure the release of Nayati Moodliar, the SA boy who was kidnapped.
CAPE TOWN - Malaysian authorities said a ransom was paid to secure the release of 12-year-old South African boy, Nayati Moodliar.
He was kidnapped several days ago outside his school in Kuala Lumpur.
Moodliar was reunited with his parents earlier on Thursday following an intensive search.
His aunt, Caroline Swanepoel, spoke to him shortly after he was found.
“I could hear in his voice that he was smiling. He said I’m fine and that’s all that we’re concerned about now.”
Moodliar's family are in Malaysia on a two-year working visa where his father works as a business consultant.
The family have both South African and Dutch citizenship.
