JOHANNESBURG – A woman and teenage girl accused of raping a mentally ill boy have appeared in the Protea Magistrate’s Court on Wednesday.
The case was postponed to May 18.
Police spokesperson Kay Makhubela said the matter was postponed for further investigations. The teenage boy will also undergo psychiatric evaluation to determine his mental status.
According to the victim, he was raped at the house of his alleged attackers.
They live three streets away from the boy’s White City home in Soweto.
During their last court appearance, the 26-year-old woman was granted R1,000 bail, while her 17-year-old sister was released into the custody of her parents.
The court heard the teen would face full prosecution.
The two women were arrested almost two weeks ago, after six days on the run.
