CAPE TOWN - It has been a busy long-weekend for Cape Town metro police officials.

They have arrested 22 drunk drivers at various roadblocks across the province.

One man was also arrested for being drunk in public at a soccer event held at Cape Town Stadium on Friday.

Metro Police Chief Wayne le Roux said, “At least 22 motorists were arrested across Cape Town and 584 traffic fines were issued.”

Meanwhile, at least eight people were killed on the province’s roads over the long-weekend.
