Protector 'vindicates' Sisulu
The Public Protector's office finds no signs of irregularities in the appointment of a legal adviser.
JOHANNESBURG - The Defence Ministry on Wednesday said it felt vindicated by Public Protector Thuli Madonsela's findings.
The ministry slammed Democratic Alliance MP David Maynier for abusing state organs to score political points.
Madonsela found that Defence Minister Lindiwe Sisulu had done nothing wrong in appointing Ngobeni as special adviser.
The protector confirmed that a warrant of arrest had been issued for Ngobeni after he failed to appear in a United States court on charges of forgery.
Defence spokesperson Ndivuwo Mabaya said, “We expected the Public Protector to arrive at the same conclusion as we did, because she applied the same laws we used.”
