JOHANNESBURG - Kaizer Chiefs assistant coach Doctor Khumalo on Tuesday said he would grab the coaching job at the club should he get an offer to take over from Vladimir Vermezovic.

Amakhosi parted ways with the Serbian coach two weeks ago.

He would not answer questions on whether he has applied for the coaching job.

Khumalo, Ace Khuse and Arthur Zwane have been in charge in the interim while the team looks for a new coach.

AmaKhosi are lying sixth on the Premier Soccer League log and have not won any games since parting ways with Vermezovic.

The former Bafana Bafana player said he has ambitions on being a head coach.

“Even given a chance I wouldn’t think twice about coaching the team. I’ve always wanted to coach.”

Last week, Bobby Motaung said the team was looking both locally and internationally for a coach.
