She may be an international movie star who is the envy of women the world over but Charlize Theron says she was embarrassed to watch herself in her latest movie Young Adult.
In the dark comedy, the Oscar-winning South African-born actress plays a character stuck in her high school days who returns home to break up the marriage of her old flame.
“She’s a bit of a cringe-worthy character. There were moments where I think it was harder to watch it than to play it.”
The young mom says she will always be young at heart.
“I learned that this not a dress rehearsal and you’ve got to live life the way you want to.”
Young Adult hits cinemas on Friday.
