The ANC’s National Executive Committee (NEC) must take decisive action against embattled Youth League leader Julius Malema, the Umkhonto weSizwe Military Veterans' Association (MKMVA) said on Tuesday.
They were responding to Malema’s recent remarks about President Jacob Zuma.
On Friday, the firebrand politician referred to the president as a dictator.
Malema was speaking at Wits University in Johannesburg.
MKMVA Chairperson Kebby Maphatsoe said the ANC cannot show Malema any mercy for his actions, which brought the ruling party into disrepute.
They called on the NEC to expel him with immediate effect.
Malema has been accused of showing disregard to several senior ANC leaders, including Secretary General Gwede Mantashe.
Maphatsoe said they believed Malema thinks he is bigger than the ANC.
