Santos coach Duncan Crowie on Monday admitted they were under pressure given their log position.
However, he was quick to say they were not panicking just yet.
The People's Team in now second from bottom on the log and is in desperate need of points to ensure their survival.
They face Platinum Stars on Wednesday.
Crowie said they were adamant they would not be relegated.
“There’s a team one point ahead of us and then there are three teams five points ahead of us and we still have eight games to go. Out of the eight games, five of them will be home games. Yes, we are disappointed, as far as the possession is concerned, but I think we will get out of it."
Crowie said despite their results, his team was playing well.
“We’ve been playing well. If you look at the last three league games that we played, we were not outplayed. Even in our last game against Black Leopards, we had the upper hand. Unfortunately they caught us with our pants down in the second half.”
The People’s Team was crowned Premier Soccer League champions in the 2001/02 season.
