Acting Cricket South Africa (CSA) president AK Khan has resigned from his post on Wednesday.
This as the embattled board meets to discuss the findings of the Nicholson Inquiry.
On Friday, retired Judge Chris Nicholson found that there is prima facie evidence that CSA CEO Gerald Majola contravened the Companies Act.
He also said the board had deliberately protected Majola from the consequences.
But Khan denied this on Tuesday saying the board has always acted in the best interests of the sport.
Speaking to Eyewitness News, he said it was time for new blood to take over CSA.
“I have resigned in the best interest of cricket. I served with the utmost integrity and humility. I believe it is now time for renewal and new leadership.”
