A British citizen arrested in connection with a multi-million rand drug bust in Table View will remain behind bars until his next court appearance.
Peter Parnell was arrested on Wednesday for having more than R2.5 million worth of tik in his possession.
Parnell's lawyer was not happy with the state’s request for a postponement.
It was argued the delay would be unfair as the Briton has bail money, a fixed address and does not pose a flight risk.
Parnell’s lawyer explained his client owns property in the Mother City and had has his passport seized.
The state needs more time so investigators can determine whether Parnell has any criminal cases pending against him in the UK.
The court heard the Englishman also goes by the name of Peter Darnell.
He was arrested following a raid on a storage facility, where tik valued at almost R3 million was found.
