Gauteng Police Commissioner Mzwandile Petros’s luxury Bryanston home was robbed on Friday evening.

Eyewitness News understands that his wife was inside the house during the incident and raised the alarm.

The criminals managed to steal a plasma TV before fleeing the scene.

Petros was not at home during the intrusion, which took place just after 8pm.

The gang is believed to have climbed over a wall and broke through the wooden panels of the front door.

Over 20 cars were parked outside the home in the early hours of Sunday morning as officials cordoned off the driveway with police tape. Sandton police station commander Allan Billings was also at the scene.

Petros declined to comment on the incident and said the matter would be handled by his spokesperson.
