Singer Chris de Burgh has told Eyewitness News he is thrilled to be returning to South Africa.

The Argentinean-born musician has visited the country several times since the 1970s.

During his career the Lady in Red singer has performed more than 3000 shows worldwide.

In November, he will add to that number with performances in Cape Town, Durban and Johannesburg.

De Burgh says there is something about that gets into your blood.

“I have been all over to places many South Africans have never been to and have enjoyed it very much and taking my family down to Cape Town for holidays. It is going to be almost like a home coming for me,” says de Burgh.
