CAPE TOWN - A Malmesbury mother who witnessed her 39-year-old son being attacked and abducted from her home said she was relieved that he made it home alive.

Cathy Jones said a group of men stormed into her Chatsworth home on Monday night and snatched her son, Christopher Jones.

Police confirmed that another man was abducted in the same area - both victims were bundled into a white Toyota Quantum after being accused of burglary.

Jones said that her son came home on Tuesday after taking refuge at the Atlantis Police Station.

“Now he's sitting here all bandaged up. They took that tomahawk thing and hit him and the other boy on their heads. They wanted to put the younger one in a dirt bin and throw diesel on him."

Police spokesperson, Malcolm Pojie, said that both men managed to escape and that a case of kidnapping was now being investigated.
