The Minister, speaking at the Africa Energy Indaba in Cape Town, says he will submit the plan to Cabinet for consideration later this month.

Cruise says this plan will likely provide a roadmap to investment in the sector and the efficient use of gas supplies.

He says that this is in part in response to a gas supply crisis facing South Africa.

“It will outline the strategy that we should be taking as a country in order to enable gas to flow more freely into South Africa, and also to explore our offshore and onshore resources.”

South Africa does not have a local gas market, a situation the Gas Master Plan aims to rectify.
