JOHANNESBURG – The Democratic Alliance (DA) has confirmed receipt of the African National Congress (ANC)’s cadre deployment records dating back to January 2013

This follows a ruling by the Constitutional Court last week ordering the ANC to hand over the minutes, email correspondence and WhatsApp conversations to the DA.

The apex court dismissed an appeal by the ANC against a 2023 high court order on the same matter.

The records cover the period when President Cyril Ramaphosa was the chairperson of the ANC’s deployment committee.

According to the DA, access to the records will shed some light on those responsible for state capture within the ranks of the ANC.

DA MP Dr Leon Schreiber says they’ll now study the records.

"The DA will now study the records to ascertain whether the ANC has complied with the court order in full. As soon as we have processed the documentation, the DA will fulfill our longstanding undertaking to make public the ANC's dirty cadre secrets for every South African to see."
