Malema says EFF frustrated tribalistic attempts to sabotage its manifesto launch in KZN

JOHANNESBURG - Economic Freedom Fighters (EFF) leader, Julius Malema, said that the party successfully frustrated tribalistic attempts to sabotage its election manifesto launch in KwaZulu-Natal.
The province is known to be an African National Congress (ANC) and Inkatha Freedom Party (IFP) stronghold, with some suggesting it would be difficult for other parites to make inroads there.
The party has been widely criticised for failing to fill up the 56,000 capacity stadium, while Malema insists the venue was packed to capacity.
Speaking at a media briefing in Johannesburg on Thursday, he said the party's rally in Durban proved it wasn't affected by tribalism in politics.
Malema said that attempts to label the KZN a poltical no-go zone had failed, citing that the party would not be subjected to tribalism in politics.
He gave his organisation a proverbial tap on the shoulder for hosting the manifesto launch in a province that's considered an ANC and IFP stronghold.
But he said what made the event even more of a success was that supporters were not transported from other provinces but were all KZN residents.
"South Africa must rise against tribalism. We will never stop going to KZN. We will go and politicise that province and make sure our people are not victims of tribalism."
Recent by-elections show that the newly formed MK party is starting grow its foortprint in the province.
