ConCourt decision on cadre deployment records a shallow victory for DA - Gauteng ANC

JOHANNESBURG - The African National Congress (ANC) in Gauteng has called the Constitutional Court decision for the party to handover it’s cadre deployment records to the Democratic Alliance (DA) as a shallow victory for the opposition party.
On Monday, the apex court dismissed the ruling party’s application to appeal a Supreme Court of Appeal decision for it to give the DA all it’s cadre deployment records dating back to 2013.
Speaking on the sidelines of the ANC Gauteng lekgotla in Boksburg, ANC provincial chairperson, Panyaza Lesufi, said that the organisation had nothing to hide.
Lesufi, who describes himself as a deployed cadre, said that the ANC does not deploy any member who was not qualified for the job.
"We have nothing to hide. It will prove that this so-called cadre deployment that people think is collapsing municipalities, is collapsing state-owned entities, it’s a figmentation of political parties that have run out of ideas to debate."
Lesufi said a version of cadre deployment was practised by all governing political parties across the world, even the DA in the Western Cape.
"I don’t remember in my leadership in particular taking somebody who is incompetent, taking somebody that is not qualified, not ready and deploying them in our province. I think there is a serious misunderstanding of what cadre deployment is."
